Hunter Type Pet Pony Riders to be under 14 years of age. To be shown at a walk, trot and canter both ways of the ring. To be judged on manners, performance and suitability to rider. 14. Hunter Type Pet Pony 15. Hunter Type Pet Pony Championship
Lead Line Open to riders 6 years of age or younger. To be shown collectively at the walk, and individually at the trot or jog. Leader to be on foot and must be at least 14 years of age. MHJ Medals
MHJ Short Stirrup Medal Open to all Junior riders who have not reached their 13th birthday as of December 1st of the current show year. To perform over at least four fences not to exceed 18”. Riders may not compete in any other equitation class other than Short Stirrup Equitation at any show and shall not have competed in a class jumping over 18”. Any Short Stirrup Equitation class(es) or Championship class may be used as the qualifying class as long as the show program specifies. At least [4] riders must complete the course in order for points to count. To qualify: 10 points. Once qualified, riders may continue to show in the class.
MHJ Mini-Medal Open to all Junior riders who have not reached their 15th birthday as of December 1st of the current show year [exception Maiden and Novice riders who have not reached their 18th birthday as of December 1st of the current show year.]. To perform over at least six fences not to exceed 2’6”. At least [4] riders must complete the course in order for points to count. To qualify: 10 points. Once qualified, riders may continue to show in the class. Riders may cross-enter into the Children’s Equitation Medal but can only compete in either the Mini-Medal or Children’s Equitation Medal but not both at the finals .
MHJ Adult Medal Open to all Amateur Adult competitors to perform over at least 8 fences 2’9” to 3’0”, spreads not to exceed fence height, with at least two changes of direction and a combination. At the finals, class will be divided 18-30 and 31 and over. At least [3] riders must complete the course in order for points to count. To qualify: 10 points. Once qualified, riders may continue to show in the class.
MHJ Adult Mini-Medal Open to all Amateur Adult competitors to perform over at least 8 fences 2’3” to 2’6”, spreads not to exceed fence height. Riders may not cross enter regular Adult Medal. At least [3] riders must complete the course in order for points to count. To qualify: 10 points. Once qualified, riders may continue to show in the class.
MHJ Junior Medal Open to all Junior riders who have not reached their 18th birthday as of December 1st of the current show year. To perform over at least six fences not to exceed 3’. At least [4] riders must complete the course in order for points to count. To qualify: 10 points. Once qualified, riders may continue to show in the class.
MHC Medal Classes Contestants are required to be individual members of the MHC No Medal Class finals in any seat will be held unless at least four riders have qualified. Finals will be held in September or October.
HUNT SEAT MINI-MEDAL Open to members of MHC who have not reached their fifteenth birthday and have not competed in classes in which the entry is required to jump higher than three feet. All contestants are to compete over a course not exceeding eight fences and not less than six fences, excluding combination fences, at a height not to exceed 2’6”. One or more individual test may be requested at the judge’s discretion. (USEF current tests 1-8.) To fill a class at least four competitors must complete the course. After qualifying, contestant is no longer eligible to enter this class. A Mini Medal rider who competes in the Jr. Medal is no longer eligible to compete in the Mini Medal Division
ADULT/AMATEUR HUNT SEAT MEDAL. Open to adult members of MHC. All contestants are required to perform over at least eight fences 2’6” to 2’9”, with at least one change of direction. One or more individual tests of the top four contestants may be requested at the judge’s discretion. (USEF tests 1-19.) To fill a class at least four competitors must complete the course. After qualifying a contestant may continue to enter this class.
JUNIOR HUNT SEAT MEDAL Open to Junior members of the MHC who have not reached their 18th birthday. All contestants are required to perform over at least 8 fences not to exceed 3’. Ten points are required to qualify for the finals. After qualifying, contestant is no longer eligible to enter this class. One or more individual tests of the top 4 contestants may be requested at the judge’s discretion. (USEF tests 1-19). To fill a class, at least 4 competitors must complete the course.

NEHC Open Pleasure Horse or Pony Open to members and non-members. Open to all horses and ponies ordinarily used for pleasure purposes with no limitations as to the status of the rider or place of residence. To be shown at walk, trot or jog, canter or lope. Loose rein on command of judge only, but without loss of contact. Will be required to back. Shall be judged on manners, performance and quality, in that order all horses shall be judged on their respective merits regardless of type. 33. NEHC Open Pleasure Horse or Pony

NEHC Medal Classes
NEHC ADULT/AMATEUR HUNTER SEAT MEDAL CLASS, MHC “A” Age Division: 18-30, over 31 If entries warrant - minimum of 16, management may split into two classes, 18-30 and 31 and over. There must be at least four (4) competitors in each class. Open to adult amateur members of the New England Horseman’s Council. NEHC JUNIOR HUNTER SEAT MEDAL CLASS Age Division: under 18 Once a contestant has qualified, they are no longer eligible for the qualifying classes. Violation will forfeit eligibility for finals for that year. There must be at least four (4) competitors in each class. Open to Junior members of the New England Horsemen’s Council who have not reached their eighteenth birthday. All contestants are required to perform over at least eight fences not to exceed 3'3".
